About Me

Hello my name is Ian Lea and I am a Photographer. My grandfather bought me my first camera when I was about 9 years old and Photography has been my passion ever since.
When I was still at school I took an evening course in photography. I turned my bedroom into a darkroom and taught my self to print.
Later I practiced on my girlfriend, now my wife, then approached a model agent and asked him if I could practice with his models. “Yes,” he said, “as long as we can have some pics”. He liked them and then commissioned me to photograph more of the models. The agent was Nigel Martin Smith the to be manager of Take That. The rest is history as they say.

Nigel was an actors agent at the time and had only just started representing models. I photographed most of the actors many of them becoming quite well known.

I work with you at my studio based in a lovely village in West Sussex (easy access from London). The studio is a 70 m2 space, completely fitted out with lights, backgrounds, changing room with en suite bathroom, catering facilities, separate WC.
